About Tall Fescue
Tall Fescue is a perennial cool season bunch grass with a 4-5 foot long root system, which provides better heat and drought tolerance than other cool season grasses.
It is used as forage in central and southern areas of U.S. and also for turf in high-traffic areas.
Tall Fescue makes its best growth in fertile soils and will tolerate moist bottom lands. Palatability is best when plants are young, as stems and leaves become course with age. Other cool season grasses may be better suited for forage purposes.
