About Dark Green Bulrush

Dark Green Bulrush is a native perennial sedge that prefers full sun in wet to moist soils. It can be found in wet prairies, sloughs, pond and river shorelines, drainage ditches, or marshes. The seeds are often eaten by ducks, Canadian geese, and other fowl; Muskrats will also eat the rootstock. Another quality of this plant is that it is adapted to a wide range of soil types in a pH range of 4.0-8.0 making it fairly versatile.
