About Cool Season Pasture Mix
This economical mix is comprised of 7 grass varieties with high yields and improved forage quality, making it suitable for all classes of livestock. It will produce best in spring and fall with cool temperatures and moisture. Approximately 241,200 seed/lb.
Do not overgraze, as this can slow or stop root growth, which extends recovery time and can promote weed invasion. Maximum production is achieved with a well-manged rotational grazing system.
This mix contains:
- Forage Perennial Ryegrass
- Beefmaker Intermediate Wheatgrass
- Orchardgrass
- Pubescent Wheatgrass
- Meadow Bromegrass
- Smooth Bromegrass
- Timothy
Plant in early spring or late summer. Value may be added to grazing acres by seeding one-half of the pasture to this mixture and one-half to Warm Season Pasture Mix. These separate pastures can be used in a rotation to provide high-producing forage all season long.
